In case you haven’t heard-Doug Did It!

On Day 65 and over 3200 miles, Doug Smith dipped the tires of his 2-wheel companion, Cassie, in the Atlantic Ocean at Rehoboth Beach, DE. He has officially completed Going the Distance for SMARTS! Every student, every staff member, every donor, every volunteer—we all collectively say CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to Doug for his incredible, personal effort and his dedication to SMARTS Community Art School. Where’s Doug today? Resting with wife Jena, we hope. He tells us that he’ll be sharing more thoughts about this journey soon. We can’t wait to hear more of his feelings and experiences now that he’s met his goal.

Won’t you help us achieve our $35,000 goal, which will support an average month of SMARTS free public programming at our Ohio One location. That’s equivalent to 250 hours, including 25 different classes in Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theater, and Creative Writing. Look for Doug Smith’s recap of “Going the Distance for SMARTS” at https://smarts.tunahelper.net/smarts/going-the-distance-journey/. Please continue supporting SMARTS programming in honor of Doug’s herculean effort to raise awareness of our school and arts education!
