SMARTS Theater

Create a Character Acting Class

Do you like to dress up, use accents, or imitate other people? In this class, you can put these skills to the test! This is your opportunity to explore the actor within you and develop your own unique stock character – a nutty professor, a crazy cat lady, a rich celebrity, or someone else! Whether you end up on stage or not, acting skills can come in handy in many life situations. Learn the traditions of theatre and develop acting skills in improvisation, characterization, storytelling, movement, voice, and emotional range. This course will culminate in a performance showcasing these unique stock characters at our SMARTS Holiday Open House on December 11. Bring your imagination because this will be fun!
